August Favorites

True Blood

Season 3 started in June and will be ending in September. So far I loved the first season, hated the second season, and now like the third season. I have read all of the Charlaine Harris books that the HBO series is based on and I think Alan Ball is doing a great job with his interpretation of the books (mostly). Vampires, love, sex, and werewolves? How could it get better?? This show is not for the faint of heart (this is not Twilight my friends) but the books are a must read!

Clinique Dramatically Different Gel

I tried the lotion about a million times and it always left me too greasy and broke me out. However, my mom always swears by it so when the gel came out I read all the reviews and decided to finally try it. The price is pretty great at $24 for 4.2oz. So far this works pretty good, and works well under makeup. It is not super moisturizing but okay if you just need a little light moisturizer during the day. I love that this doesn't make my face look oily or greasy and as long as my face continues to stay clear I will continue to use this religiously.

Chanel's Paradoxal

This nail polish is the new "it" color for the fall. I LOVE this color! This is a sort of gray/purple with a violet micro shimmer in it-so pretty and different. I have not been able to find a dupe for this. I love the formula of chanel's nail polish ( I own about 4) but some people hate it! To me it always gives a smooth even finish that is long lasting! Chanel also comes out with some of the most interesting and unique shades!

Clinique's Moisture Surge

This is hands
down the best moisturizer I have ever used. It is a little more expensive thanthe dramatically
different gel at $34 for only 1.7 oz so I only use this at night. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels and looks amazing! I have tried a ton of moisturizers including some from lush, aveeda, aveeno, philosophy and everything in between.

Weeds

I am OBSESSED with this show. My husband and I steamed the first 5 seasons on netflix and then added showtime to our dish network package just to watch this show (and Dexter which starts in a few weeks). My friend Mary recommended the show to me and I am so glad she did. This show is funny, witty, stylish, and just a good well-rounded show for those of you who are sick of reality tv and would like to watch something that is a little more highbrow.

Boscia Lumanizing Black Mask

This mask is a biore strip for your face. This is by far the most I have spent or will spend on a mask. I bought this at Sephora for $34 for 2.8 oz. This is described on Sephora as a powerful detoxifying "peel-off"mask that will purify and brighten your complexion. The only down side is that you have to use a lot of product because a thick even layer is essential in order to get the mask to peel and really feel and see the benefits.

  1. I love True blood!
I have read the books too and I think they have actually managed to improve the story for TV.

  2. @Fer, there are somethings that I love that Alan Ball did, like that vampire blood is a drug 'v' and all of the story that goes with that, others I don't love, like the tara and eggs thing and I really want eric to get with sookie already!
