Chanel Le Vernis

Who doesn't love Chanel? Even if you can't afford to drape yourself in tweed and pearls you can indulge in a little bit of luxury with their nail polish. Chanel is known to be the leader in fashion and style and time and time again they often led the seasons trends with nail polish. One of their best known nail polishes have been Black Satin (219) which started the black nail polish trend in Hollywood. Black Satin was also my first Chanel nail polish purchase (if I was gonna do black, it was gonna be Chanel). Other trendy nail colors have been Jade, Particulure, and Paradoxyl.

Here is my (small but growing) Chanel collection.

Black Satin (219)

This is the best black nail polish ever, it easy to put on and is opaque in two coats. I wouldn't wear any other black, this makes it feel classy and less emo/goth. However, I did have a student (male) approach me one day saying "Ms. Manchester we have the same nail polish" -scary. The most amazing thing about this polish is that it lasts a really long time, with a base and my seche vite top coat I can go 7 full days without even one chip.

Golden Sand (317)

After my amazing experience with black satin I wanted another nail polish, unfortunately at $23 a pop I have to contain my obsession slightly. I decided to try golden sands which was a limited release. This is sort of a rose gold/copper when compared to the other gold nail polishes in my collection. However, this is a great nude/metallic that will never go out of style.

Paradoxal (509)

This year's "it" fall 2010 color! I love this color it is the perfect grey/purple (graige) with a violet micro shimmer- so nice and unique. This will be my fall go-to color. Everyone on youtube and blogspot are raving about this color. I have tried it and it is darker than I thought it would be, but still a really amazing color for fall! One of my favorites in my collection!

Nouvelle Vague (527)

Hard to find, hard to get but I got lucky. This is an amazing turquoise with a silver micro shimmer. The color is very very close to China Glaze's For Audrey with the added shimmer (For Audrey is a creme). This isn't a must have if you already have For Audrey but I like the micro shimmer and the formula is much better (my For Audrey is very thick).

  2. yes, it is totally worth it- I love it! Particuliere is on my list, but I have the dupe and it is so close, but I still want it. I love the blue satin too..a dupe for the nouvelle vague is one of my favorite China Glaze polishes- For Audrey, there is just no shimmer
